London-based illustrator and music maker Mcbaise is back with the shimmering new single, 'Alice'.
Known for his cult blend of sun-drenched yacht rock and surreal animated visuals, 'Alice' continues the tradition of Mcbaise’s immersive creative world - this time, with a few extra surprises.
The single is accompanied by a brand-new animated video directed and produced by Mcbaise himself (aka Mcbess), following a lone hiker’s surreal adventure through a mountainous dreamscape. To mark the release, fans can also get their hands on a limited edition vinyl toy of the Alice character - designed by Mcbess in collaboration with 3D artist Vincent Techer - and a capsule clothing collection from long-time partners The Dudes.
“This is the first time we’ve synchronised a track, toy, clothing line and animation,” says Mcbess. “It’s something special for the fans who’ve been patiently waiting for new material.”
The single also teases a full-length album due later this year, to be released on limited-edition vinyl featuring a red puffer jacket sleeve inspired by Alice herself. A video premiere and intimate launch party took place last night at Big Night in East London, with yakitori and cocktails curated to match the video’s aesthetic.
