Armin van Buuren has released his eighth album, Feel Again, led by his new single “On & On” with British duo Punctual and singer-songwriter Alika. His goal for the album was to bring people together so features collaborations with the likes of Owl City, R3HAB, Matoma, Wrabel, AVIRA, Gareth Emery, Blasterjaxx and more.
The album was born of van Buuren’s disconnect with loved ones throughout the pandemic. Like many in this time, he found himself uninspired and lonely. After realizing he couldn’t please everyone else, he took up new routines, including mediation, and discovered a new love of music. This prompted this latest album, which reflects three stages of feeling and inspiration. The daunting 34 tracks are all individual in sound but coexist for a harmonious album.
“To me, Feel Again signifies a new beginning, as being lost without actively realizing it can whittle away at who you are. I’m happy to have found a new balance and a reinvigorated love for music, and I hope will remind and encourage listeners to stay connected and true to themselves,” said van Buuren. “Feel Again means acknowledging harsh truths, finding out what really matters and and letting that power a new step forward,” said his label Armada Music.
The Dutch DJ and producer has been an EDM staple since 1996. van Buuren saw his first success with a track called “Blue Fear”, which was released under the Cyber Records label in 1997. He has been number one on the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs Poll five times and has hosted a weekly radio show, A State of Trance, which reaches 40 millions listeners from 80 countries, since 2001. In 2014, he was nominated for a Grammy for “Best Dance Recording” for “This Is What It Feels Like” with Trevor Guthrie, making him only the fourth trance artist to receive a Grammy nomination.
van Buuren consistently headlines dozens of leading festivals and venues around the world every year and you can see him in the coming months at Ultra Taiwan, A Summer Story and Tomorrowland, amongst others. He also has residencies at Hï Ibiza and Ushuaïa Ibiza.
