Ubbi Dubbi Cancels Day 2 Due to ‘Severe Weather’

Ubbi Dubbi Festival on Sunday afternoon announced it was devastated to cancel the second day of the event “due to forecasted severe weather.” Disco Donnie Presents broke the news on the dance music festival, citing “hail, unsafe wind speeds, and lightning” in the Forth Worth, Texas, area.

In a notice posted on the event site and social media accounts, the organizer said they worked closely with local authorities and weather services to determine the safest and best course of action.

“We don’t take your support for granted and we held out hope Sunday’s event could take place,” the organizer wrote, “But the weather didn’t cooperate.”

Ubbi Dubbi stated it will release instructions for ticket holders to get refunds “as soon as possible” on their website. The CamelPhat afterparty at The Shack has also been canceled and the whole amount of tickets will be refunded.

Alternate Events

The organizer quickly began working on several alternate events indoors at venues across the city. The alternate events will be ticketed because the venue occupancy codes do not allow festival-size crowds. They announced Clubbi Ubbi with headliners including Tiësto and Gorgon City at Cowboys Red River in Dallas. Clubbi Dubbi headliners are Zeds Dead and Clozee at The Shack, walking distance from the festival venue. Both afterparties were sold out shortly after being announced. However, the organizer said there will be another afterparty for CamelPhat with previous ticket holders being able to use their passes at the new venue.

Ubbi Dubbi was the first dance music festival back after the coronavirus pandemic shutdown last year. This weekend was its third edition. It was set to take place at Texas Motorplex in Ennis with a camping option, but Disco Donnie in early March changed it back to the original venue, Panther Island Pavilion, without camping. Given the bad weather on Sunday, the camping portion turned out to be a bullet dodged.

Saturday’s lineup included Alison Wonderland, Black Tiger Sex Machine, Dom Dolla, Excision, John Summit and Trivecta, among others. Sunday would have had artists including CamelPhat, Clozee, a sunset set by Diplo, Gorgon City and Zeds Dead.

“We apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to seeing you again next year,”

Ubbi Dubbi’s organizer wrote.
