Halloween this year is getting The Weeknd treatment, with two unique haunted attractions inspired by his After Hours album. It seems quite fitting given the name. So, the Canadian singer-songwriter teamed up with Univeral Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights for this event – The Weeknd: After Hours Nightmare. It will take place at the Orlando Resort and Hollywood Studios this September. What is this, you might ask?
This is set to be a themed, multimedia experience centered around the album. So, that means a trek through the macabre environments of The Weeknd’s music videos. It features live performers, and special effects, with influences from A Clockwork Orange, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and Jacob’s Ladder. For the music, you’ll find six of his songs including ‘After Hours’, ‘In Your Eyes’, ‘Blinding Lights’.
“I always wanted my own Halloween Horror Nights haunted house, as Halloween has always been significant to my music, so this is a total dream come to life. I feel like my music videos have served as a launching pad for a collaboration like this, and I cannot wait for people to experience this madness!”

He comes off a successful remix of ‘How Do I Make You Love Me?’ by Ingrosso and Salvatore Gannaci. Now he moves on to his latest cinematic/televisual project with the help of senior show director Charles Gray. Gray’s vision is to extract the nightmares and see what it would be like inside his head while creating the album.
“It isn’t a retelling of the After Hours album; it’s entering the nightmares that were the muse for his songs. There’s a lot of surrealistic, horrific imagery as we [expand upon scenarios] inspired by the videos.”
Charles Gray, Orlando senior show director
