Supertaste are back at it, and we couldn’t be happier! This past April, we shared with you the lead single from their now released EP, titled Super Classic. Prior to this, we shared with you their 4-track EP titled Disco Breakup in July of 2020. Today, we are bringing you the Brooklyn-based indie-dance duo’s newest addition to their discography, in the form of their Super Classic EP. Likewise, if you’re a fan of indie dance, you’re going to love this one.
Supertaste’s 5-song EP is a culmination of singles released throughout 2021, and features the newly released single titled ‘Wash‘. From a musical standpoint, the EP is on the uplifting side. It can be said to be a “true bop” with each tune building onto the previous one. As a result, we get a cohesive body of work that is easy to listen to from beginning to end. Ultimately, Supertaste’s Super Classic EP reminds me of the feeling one gets when they are falling in love. Weird, I know, but after giving it a listen I think you’ll understand just what I mean — it’s dreamy. The EP features synth-pop soundscapes and majestic disco-pop grooves that I think everyone can appreciate.
A press release for Supertaste gives listeners some insight into the creative process behind the Super Classic EP in the following:
“As a group, Supertaste is composed of singer-songwriter Hundreds Thousands and talented dance producer Slug Father. In 2020, mid-pandemic, Supertaste collected their belongings in Brooklyn and ventured to a cabin in the woods to make an indie pop record. The duo packed up their studio and road tripped to Bristol, Tennessee, where they produced their forthcoming Super Classic EP. They cleared out the cabin’s living room furniture and recreated Supertaste studios in the mountains, with a view out over South Holston Lake and the Cherokee National Forest. The epic scenery served as a source of inspiration fueling both creativity and productivity throughout the writing and production process.”
With a tracklist 7-tracks deep to include an intro and outro, Supertaste’s Super Classic EP features the right amount of tracks to set the mood. With that said, the EP is 17 minutes and 14 seconds long. Having said that, it should be the perfect amount of time to get you grooving. Lastly, if you’re into Supertaste, Indie-dance, or just looking for new music, then Supertaste’s Super Classic EP is just right for you. In conclusion, Supertaste’s Super Classic EP is out now on Casablanca Sunset Records, and can be streamed below, enjoy!
