GALA has officially announced Ten Years of GALA, a landmark compilation project designed to celebrate a decade of community-driven club culture and independent artistic spirit. Since its inception in 2016 as a modest one-day gathering in South London, GALA has steadily evolved into one of the capital’s most respected electronic music festivals, consistently prioritizing curation and genuine connection over sheer scale.
This anniversary release serves as a testament to that ethos. Rather than offering a traditional greatest-hits retrospective, the project gathers a diverse array of artists from across the festival’s extended orbit. Spanning 15 tracks, the compilation opens with a poignant spoken-word contribution from Charlie Dark, before traversing a sonic landscape of soulful electronics, leftfield grooves, and club-focused rhythms.
The project features an impressive roster of contributors, including Joe Armon Jones and Maxwell Owin, Dreamcastmoe, Marcellus Pittman, KiNK featuring Rachel Row, Call Super, Yu Su, Suze Ijó, NIKS, and Chaos In The CBD. By bringing together such a varied group of musicians, the compilation avoids defining a singular “GALA sound,” instead reflecting the diversity and openness that have defined the festival since its inception.

As the festival enters its second decade, Ten Years of GALA stands as a forward-looking statement. It is less a look backwards at past achievements and more a marker of where underground culture has been—and a hint at where it might go next. The project remains rooted in community and powered by curiosity, proving that the festival is still moving to its own rhythm.
Ten Years of GALA is out now via Rush Hour. Fans can purchase the release on Bandcamp.
