Jim Legxacy returns with a powerful new single, ‘aggressive’, taken from his forthcoming mixtape 'Black British Music', set for release next year via XL Recordings.

Marking his first release on his new label, ‘aggressive’ is both a raw heartbreak anthem and a nod to past influences, sampling Chip’s iconic song, ‘Oopsy Daisy’. The track showcases Jim’s melodic vocals over a smooth, melancholic dancehall beat, cementing his place as a unique voice in the new wave of Black British music.

Accompanied by a visually striking video directed by Fidel—shot entirely on a Blackberry—‘aggressive’ is Jim’s latest exploration of his signature kaleidoscope of genres. Earlier this year, he shared the emotional track ‘nothings changed (!)’ in tribute to his sister, performing it live for the first time during a debut show at The Albany in South London's Deptford.

With 'Black British Music (2024)', Jim Legxacy aims to depict his journey growing up in South East London, drawing from R&B to grime, Afrobeats, and alternative influences. It promises to be a compelling portrayal of life, loss, and resilience, solidifying Jim as a cultural force in the UK music scene.
