Chicago is bringing the heat this fall. The city has both North Coast Music Festival and the new ARC Music Festival coming (and sadly overlapping). But, while we wait for Labor Day for those two, we’ve got another music event to look forward to! Announced May 12th, Party in the Park will be happening at the notorious Grant Park. On June 26th and 27th, some of the most widely respected and influential performers in music and more will be on stage.
The lineup is insane. Grammy winning and “Godfather of EDM” Tiësto will be headlining alongside the Queen of Funk and Icon, Chaka Khan. Gryffin will be performing an energetic and remarkable DJ set. Australian Betty Who, most known for “I Love You Always Forever”, will be coming back to the windy city. She has also previously played during Pride week in Chicago and Mamby on the Beach. House DJ Derrick Carter and award-winning producer Tracy Young will bring the beats as well.
Some of RuPaul’s Drag Race most lovable contestants from near and far will be performing as well! Fresh off the show, Denali Foxx will be bringing a crowd to the stage. The drag superstar has the capabilities to put on one of the best shows given her insane ice skating talent and lip synch experience. Her drag mother, Chamilla Foxx, will hopefully jump on stage with Denali at some point. Alyssa Edwards, from Season 5, who is most known for her personality and choreography will be joining them. The Vixen is also going to give us one hell of a show. Chicago’s own female impersonator Traci Ross will bring the entertainment to all attendees.
Chicago Pride is huge in the city all year round. Many travel from all different states to come join in the celebration and expand about the joy that is exuded in the summer time and more. Dusty Carpenter, Pride in the Park Chicago President and Lead Organizer, said, “to say that we are excited is an understatement. We have legendary artists – with 12 Grammys combined – diverse Allies and Queer icons that are going to simply bring down the house. What better way to celebrate our Pride than with amazing music in a diverse and inclusive atmosphere? We continue to celebrate Pride to remind us of our achievements and to also remind us of our history, struggles, and the work that is yet to be done.“
Pride in the Park 2021 tickets are on sale NOW! GA begins at $80 for the two days. Find out more information here about the event and grab your tickets here.
