Chris Lake is one of the best to ever do it. Over the course of his long & storied career, he’s dabbled in numerous flavors of house music — and excelled in them, at that. At the current moment, his flavor is tech house. In this genre, I would liken him to a production god, trendsetting, and setting the pace for all those behind him. For proof of this, look no further than his record label/imprint Black Book Records. Black Book Records has come to be known for releasing some of the most forward-thinking tech-house. In addition to this, the label is a hub for all of Chris Lake’s originals, as well. Today, we bring you the latest release from the label, an EP, by the way of Black Book ID’s: Chapter 3 .
Firstly, to celebrate the first anniversary of the launch of the Black Book ID’s series, black book records has just dropped the third chapter in the series. This third chapter features a never-before-released track from Chris Lake, by the way of his new tune ‘400′. This is a tune that avid fans might remember from a two-year-old Redbull Remix lab video, with Anna Lunoe. Having said that, it’s amazing to finally see the track released, as this is a tune he’s been playing live regularly.
Apart from ‘400′, BB ID’s: Chapter 3 also features new music from Franklyn Watts, Ango Tamarin, Gettoblaster ft. DJ Funk and Pimpo Gama. While all of these tunes are stompers in their own right, my personal favorite has to be ‘Have A Nice Day ?‘ from newcomer, Ango Tamarin. I say this, as the tune features an incredibly catchy, yet cheeky vocal sample. It is so good, that I wish I had thought of it!
Black Book ID’s endeavor to give fans a sense of discovery, with exclusive, previously unreleased recordings from new and established artists, is on full display here.
