Annie Mac is a name synonymous with house music, and for good reason — she’s a legend in the space. This past August, we shared the news with you that the long-time BBC Radio 1 host would be retiring from her duties, after a storied 17-year career. Today, we bring you news of her return to the dancefloor, albeit in a different capacity. Annie Mac has just shared that she will be starting an event series titled ‘Before Midnight’. This is meant to be a nightclub experience, for those of us who need sleep.
In a recent Twitter post, Annie shared that she would be introducing:
“…Before Midnight – a fully authentic clubbing experience that starts at 7pm and ends at the strike of midnight. A chance for you to have all the fun, euphoria and wild abandon you need and STILL get a good nights sleep.”
If you ask me, this is a fantastic concept, and an idea I look forward to seeing happen. As of now, the inaugural event is set to take place at the Islington Assembly Hall, in London. The date is set as Friday May 20’th, 2022, and will run from 7pm until midnight. The lineup will feature music courtesy of Annie Mac herself, as well as Melle Brown.
Pre-sale tickets will go on sale on April 7’th, meanwhile, the general on-sale will begin on April 9th. If you’re like me, and you value your beauty sleep, this is something you need to take advantage of. I for one hope this concept makes its way stateside. Pre-sale tickets for Annie Mac‘s ‘Before Midnight’ can be found here, enjoy! The original post can be found here.
