Back in 2011, Above & Beyond released ‘Love Is Not Enough‘, a trance classic among us from the Group Therapy album. Fast forward to 2020, where Hybrid Minds takes a stab at a drum and bass remix and we are here for it.
They kept the orchestral arrangements and soft-spoken vocals the same. But the tempo is picked up for a quicker pace. Though, it is still light and airy in atmosphere thanks to iconic Zoe Johnston’s voice. Concurrently, this remix celebrates A&B’s 20th year on the Anjunabeats label with tons of guest compilations from artists. So, this remix is aptly well-deserved, plus it debuted on their ABGT guest mix last Friday. That was the first drum and bass mix for the show.
This is a great rendition of the original, without having it overtake too much of the genre. For all the drum and bass fans out there, this one’s for you. Josh White and Matt Lowe have been stars of the DNB scene for a while, with successful vocal anthems like ‘Touch‘, ‘Drowning In You‘, and ‘Higher Love‘.
This follows their 2020 release ‘Don’t Ever’ with DRS, and collaboration with Netsky, ‘Let Me Hold You’. It doesn’t get much more prolific than this. Their records receive over 2 million streams so check this one out.
Josh and Matt currently host a radio show weekly on KISS FM in the UK. They’ve had a great year in virtual touring for Glastonbury and SW4. Next year, they’re headlining London’s Brixton Academy and slaying an Ibiza residency. While the song is about two individuals growing apart, the British trio and duo fit naturally together. Their sounds definitely take this song to a new level.
What’s more, is in celebration of 20 years for Anjuna, we’re getting an exclusive merch collection from Farrow Design. You can find items here. These unique designs carry iconic sleeves and aesthetic made famous by The Pet Shop Boys.
For now, stream Hybrid Mind’s remix below.
