London trio Lo Simple have officially released their debut album 'I BECOME YOU,' out now via THEFT. The project marks a significant milestone for the group, which consists of saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist Gal Go—widely recognized for his collaborative work with King Krule—alongside SHEIVA and drummer Danny Jerome.
The London-based collective is rapidly establishing a distinct sonic identity, weaving together elements of post-rock, shoegaze, and experimental electronics. The album was recorded at a South East London studio with Andy Ramsay before undergoing a final refinement process in the band’s own creative spaces. This collaborative approach has resulted in a record that feels both deeply personal and sonically expansive.
Throughout 'I BECOME YOU,' the band navigates complex themes of identity, healing, connection, and personal transformation. The tracklist balances moments of raw, restless energy—found in songs like 'Same Clothes' and 'Coming Down'—with more reflective, atmospheric compositions such as 'Calm' and 'Paradise.' A standout moment on the record is the title track, which draws inspiration from a centuries-old poem by Amir Khusro and is performed in Persian and Urdu.
Built from a foundation of spontaneous jams and late-night studio sessions, the album captures the band's instinctive approach to songwriting. To celebrate the release, Lo Simple are scheduled to perform a live show at Ormside Projects on 21 May.
