Sankey’s Manchester Secures New 6am License

Sankey’s Manchester has officially been granted a new 6am license, marking a major milestone in the club's storied history. Having returned to active operations just one month ago, the venue has already begun rolling out a robust season featuring a mix of established industry titans and rising talent, signaling a strong resurgence for the iconic brand.

The newly acquired 6am license restores the late-night freedom that once defined the venue, allowing it to deliver the extended, immersive clubbing experiences that Manchester’s underground community has long been craving. This development coincides with the highly anticipated return of the club's seminal in-house brand, The Redlight, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 24th, over the Bank Holiday weekend.

The Redlight, which became synonymous with the raw, house and garage-focused energy of the original Sankeys Soap era, is set to make a powerful comeback. The May Bank Holiday edition will feature a headline performance from Felix Da Housecat, with support from original residents Krysko and Bucky, ensuring the night remains firmly anchored in the club’s rich heritage.

The venue’s new 500-capacity space is designed to replicate the stripped-back, authentic atmosphere of the original Sankeys experience. It features an LED matrix installation and maintains a strict no-VIP, no-phones dancefloor policy to preserve the integrity of the clubbing environment. Weekly Saturday events are already in full swing, with a lineup of heavy hitters including Heidi, Maya Jane Coles, Solardo, Stacey Pullen, Steve Lawler, Magda, Nick Curly, and Oxia.

With extended hours now secured and a legendary brand back on the calendar, the DNA of the original institution is clearly back in action, reinstating Sankey’s as a vital heartbeat of Manchester’s nightlife.
