Charlie Lim Returns with Heartbreaking New Single ‘Nobody’s Home’

A New Chapter of Vulnerability

Award-winning Singaporean artist Charlie Lim has officially announced his highly anticipated third studio album, DAYDREAM, slated for release at the end of 2026. To herald this new era, Lim has shared the project's lead single, 'Nobody’s Home,' a track that marks a return to the raw, stripped-back vulnerability that first endeared him to a global audience.

The single arrives alongside a poignant visual directed by longtime collaborator Jonathan Choo. Musically, the track signals a shift toward greater restraint, anchored by delicate piano arrangements and a near-whispered vocal performance. Lim reveals that the song was written and recorded in a single sitting during a period of significant personal difficulty, capturing a genuine moment of emotional unravelling.

Refining the Sound

Co-produced with sugi.wa in a remote Devon cottage, 'Nobody’s Home' serves as a thematic blueprint for the upcoming DAYDREAM album. The record aims to strip away unnecessary ornamentation in favor of absolute truth. Across the album's eight tracks, Lim explores the quiet spaces of loss, longing, and acceptance, moving away from the broader sonic palettes of his previous works like TIME/SPACE and CHECK-HOOK.

This shift toward introspective minimalism has already drawn comparisons to the works of artists like James Blake and Chet Faker. With over 20 million streams to his name, Lim’s latest creative direction feels less like a reinvention and more like a refinement of his core identity.

As Lim prepares to share the rest of DAYDREAM, it is clear that his focus is narrowing to get even deeper. By embracing silence and space, he is inviting listeners into his most intimate record to date.

'Nobody's Home' is available on all streaming platforms now.
