One of the most exciting duos in EDM is back on the stage. Funny enough, each member of this duo has been active for most of the year. This time, however, it’s not the Swedish House Mafia that will be delivering a masterclass in progressive house. Axwell // Ingrosso, the duo made up by two of the 3 members part of Swedish House Mafia is finally back behind the decks. Axwell & Ingrosso will perform at the MDLBEAST Soundstorm Festival in Saudi Arabia this weekend. This will mark the first performance of any SHM member since the pandemic began.
The Swedish House Mafia returned in 2018. That same year also marked the last performance by this iconic duo. Now, after 3 years, Axwell & Ingrosso are finally back, set to perform this weekend at this year’s edition MDLBeast Soundstorm Festival. After a canceled performance due to a Covid infection, there’s no doubt people are anxious to finally catch the Swedes back in action doing what they do best.
Known for countless progressive house hits during their time as a duo, there’s no doubt the Axwell & Ingrosso return is well worth the excitement. Taking on a brighter, happier, and more festival-like style, the duo has always delivered an amazing performance. It’s interesting to note that the set will not be billed as Axwell // Ingrosso, as that particular project and branding was retired when SHM reunited.
While the festival’s lineup does not feature Sebastian Ingrosso, the festival confirmed his attendance. Furthermore, Ingrosso posted an Instagram story today on his way to Saudi Arabia.
Soundstorm, a four-day festival organized by MDLBeast has been widely criticized. The artists have also been criticized for performing in a country in which human rights are not always respected. Some artists have come out to defend the message of playing and sharing love through music. How things go down, however, is yet to be seen.
