2020 iHeart Music Award Nominees Include Diplo, Kygo, Marshmello…

As we enter awards season, artists will come together to be recognized for their work. iHeart Radio is gearing up for its annual music awards show, recognizing the industries top artist. This will be iHeart Radio’s seventh year holding the event. In addition, this year’s show will be held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. On Wednesday, January 8th, the company released this year’s nominees. Important to note: The awards show is based on statistics gathered from the iHeart Radio stations, from throughout 2019.

 “This year’s nominees represent the music heard all year on our stations and the iHeartRadio app. We can’t wait to bring them together for one incredible night of celebration and see who takes home the award in all thirty-plus categories.”

In all, this year’s nominees see many artists from previous years but also include some new faces. Five artists are in the running for song of the year, arguably the most talked-about category. They include Billie Eilish’s “bad guy”, Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road”, Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello’s “Señorita”, the Jonas Brothers’ “Sucker”, and Lizzo’s “Truth Hurts”.

Most importantly, our favorite category, the dance categories, includes many of the songs we’ve heard throughout the past year. Dance Song of the Year Nominees include: ‘Close To Me’ – Ellie Goulding, Diplo featuring Swae Lee, ‘Higher Love’ – Kygo & Whitney Houston, ‘Body’ – Loud Luxury featuring brando, ‘Here With Me’ – Marshmello featuring Chvrches, and ‘So Close’ –NOTDFelix Jaehn & Captain Cutsv featuring Georgia Ku. Furthermore, The Chainsmokers, Diplo, Loud Luxury, Marshmello, and Kygo are also up for Dance Artist of the Year.
