Tems is taking her Leading Vibe Initiative (LVI) to South Africa, marking the programme’s first activation in Southern Africa. Set to take place in Johannesburg on 21 March 2026, the latest edition builds on successful launches in Lagos and Nairobi, continuing Tems’ mission to amplify emerging women in music across the continent.

Founded in 2025, LVI was created to address the persistent underrepresentation of women in the music industry, particularly artists, songwriters and producers. The inaugural Lagos edition brought together 20 Nigerian creatives for mentorship, studio sessions and industry workshops, while Nairobi expanded the initiative’s pan-African footprint with masterclasses and collaborative sessions led by leading regional voices.

The South Africa edition will welcome women aged 18–35 for a programme spanning songwriting, production and the business of music, alongside networking and mentorship opportunities. Music technology company Native Instruments will provide production tools, while luxury brand Hennessy returns as official partner.

“My goal with the Leading Vibe Initiative is to help support and amplify talented women who have the potential to redefine the industry,” said Tems. “By providing access, tools, and opportunity, we’re creating space for them to find their voices, step into their power, and shape the future of music across the continent and globally.” said Tems.

Applications are now open and close 28 February 2026, as LVI continues its push to reshape the future of African music from the ground up.
