If there’s something that would definitely make 2021 better, that would be new Swedish House Mafia music. We’re a little over a month away from the 3 year anniversary of EDM’s most famous trio’s reunion. Since then, we’ve gotten exactly 0 brand new songs to listen to, and a whole bunch of nothing else. However, new music might be on the way, as new videos have emerged showing Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso, and Steve Angello together in the studio.
It’s been 3 years since the biggest supergroup in EDM’s history made its return. After a stellar show at Ultra Music Festival and a bunch of different dates, SHM went quiet for the rest of the year and 2020. There were tons of rumors, talk about new tracks coming soon, previews, and more. In the end, there was nothing. Now, we’ve got this video, and we’re a little more than excited and ready for some brand new Swedish House Mafia.
If you’re somewhat familiar with SHM’s voices you’ll easily recognize both Steve and Sebastian’s voices. The video was posted by the trio’s art director, Alexander Wessely. Later during the same day, Max Holmstrand, day-to-day manager for Swedish House Mafia posted a video on the exact same studio.
In the background of Wesseley’s video, you can listen to some music. Are they teasing us? Is Swedish House Mafia finally putting out some music? Yes, I know, we saw a lot of previews before. ‘Underneath It All’ and ‘Frankenstein’ both broke the internet, but they were never released. Maybe Swedish House Mafia decided to wait until touring was once again on the horizon, and 2021 is the year. I will allow my hopes to go as high as they can one last time. Swedish House Mafia is in the studio. They might finally be back, and we’re here for it.
What about you? Are you ready for this new Swedish House Mafia chapter? Are you ready to save the world?
