Standerwick gives us another gorgeous cut on his newfound progressive sound with ‘Apricus’. Out now on Armada Music, he infuses a hypnotic melody with a deep, suspenseful bassline. You might just find yourself listening to this on repeat without even knowing it.
Right from the start the melody chimes in, setting the tone for the entire piece. The angelic synths resound in the background, almost as if bathing you in sunlight. Secondly, it soars higher with every step and personifies the natural, ambient soundtrack of nature. Thirdly, it is also interesting to note that apricus means “sunny” in Latin. Aptly named for the personality of the track, its warm and inviting nature feel like just that. What’s more, it might even fit the Anjunadeep vibe as well. Put on your headphones and get zen.
Ian Standerwick started off as a rock music enthusiast but transferred to electronic dance music, where he made it his home. It’s evident in his successful releases and top-charting trance hits on Beatport. He’s had an exciting festival and club circuit, for which we cannot wait to get back to. As an official Roland Ambassador, he prides himself on his live experience with Roland Music equipment.
From his remixes to solo materials, we welcome his new sound as well. Recently, he retied the know with Armada Music courtesy of his single ‘Bringing Me Up‘. We anticipate the next chapter of his career will exciting. New year, new music, under a new pipeline.
