SOFY Releases Visuals For Indie-Pop Masterpiece, ‘mine’

After her infectious, heart-on-sleeve confessional, 'togethertogether', dropped in July, SOFY returned last week with new single, 'mine'. Another excerpt from her newly announced mixtape, 'Another Day In Paradise' - set for release in March next year - 'mine' offers up another irresistible slice SOFY pie.

On 'mine', SOFY once again harnesses her vulnerability to create an indie-pop anthem, as she confronts her fears and admits her feelings to her crush: "By the way would you ever?/Turn your guilt into pleasure?/Blame it all on the weather?/Kinda think it’d be better/If you were mine."

"It's about facing all the ‘what ifs’ and confronting your emotions because that’s less scary than keeping those feelings to yourself and wondering what would have happened if you’d done things differently. Musically it feels kind of desperate and frantic but lyrically it remains quite tentative, which I think matches the enormous emotions (anxiety, fear, excitement) that go into admitting your feelings for someone for the first time," SOFY explained of the track.

Accompanying the song is a music video, newly landed this week. Lauded by SOFY as her "favourite yet," it opens a door into the concept mixtape's universe, with a Scalextric track adding a heavy dose of nostalgia.

'mine' is out now via Chess Club Records.
