In a world full of 2000’s hip hop/ r&b remixes, it’s refreshing to hear someone edit something from a different time period. Even more so when it’s from neither of these genres as well. Today, we bring you a fresh new remix from a fresh new artist. The artist, in particular, is that of New York City’s Martial Simon. The tune itself is a remix of Rustic Root’s 1990 smash hit, ‘Send Me On My Way‘. If you’re a fan of the song, you’re going to want to check this one out.
In the past, we’ve seen Simon put his unique spin on Erasure‘s ‘A Little Respect‘. Today, we see him reinvent this formula, albeit with Rustic Root’s ‘Send Me On My Way’. Through his productions, Simon has the unique ability to stay true to the roots of the dance floor. While doing this, he manages to stay true to himself, and his unique taste, by infusing classics with today’s electronic sounds. After listening to both ‘A Little Respect’, and ‘Send Me on My Way’, it is easy to see that he is onto something. Today’s release features a smooth slap-house-type bassline. If you’re into this style of music, you’re not going to want to miss this one.

“This record is very special to me. I teamed up with vocalist Mike Burke based in Nashville. He and I attended the same high school in Massachusetts. We both loved the original by Rusted Root growing up. What better way to remake it, together with the same vision. A powerful drop with soulful vocals, perfect for any dancefloor or beach party. This song definitely takes you on a ride.”
With a total run time of three minutes & nine seconds, Martial Simon’s ‘Send Me On My Way’ is the perfect amount of time to really get us grooving.
