The annual Revolve Festival, an exclusive, invite-only Coachella event, was apparently a disaster this year, according to influencers. Many attendees compared the event to 2017’s notorious Fyre Fest, after severe transportation issues left many waiting in the sun for several hours without water.
The only way to get to Revolve Festival was via provided shuttles, which picked guests up from a parking lot a mile and a half away. The shuttles were not sufficient for the large crowds of attendees, causing many to wait for hours in the heat. Once shuttles did arrive, chaos ensued as some guests jumped gates, ran in front of buses on the road, and shoved people to get to the front of the line. Security was nonexistent, according to attendees, and Revolve staff were nowhere to be seen.
Clothing brand Revolve launched the annual Coachella event back in 2015, and invitations have become highly coveted. Revolve invites some high-profile influencers and celebrities directly while other influencers can only attend if they meet a criteria for sponsored content for Revolve. Some creators with smaller platforms are also invited to attend, but they must spend at least $2,000 on the clothing brand’s website.
After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, Revolve Festival returned this year at the Merv Griffin Estate in La Quinta, California, just down the street from Coachella’s festival grounds. Highlights from this year’s festival included free drinks from Kendall Jenner’s tequila brand, 818 Tequila, free food from luxury supermarket Erewhon, and performances by Post Malone, Jack Harlow, and Willow Smith.
