As trial music events show promising results through regions within Europe, Ibiza decided to set up its own. This comes as a result of an agreement between the government and the Ibiza Leisure Association. Notably, the capacity will be limited to 50%, totaling a maximum of 2000 individuals at a select outdoor space. While the location has yet to be revealed for anticipating fans, we know it will take place either on June 25 or July 2!
Obviously, this trial event does not come without precautions against COVID-19. First of all, only 500 people will be allowed into the dancefloor at a single instance while wearing masks. Additionally, drinks are to be served in a separate seated area to further split crowds away from each other.
Furthermore, it’s pivotal to note that attendees must show proof of vaccination upon entering the event. Otherwise, the latter option is providing a negative COVID-19 test. To ensure further safety, entry will also be predicated upon the use of QR codes to veer away from personal contact.
José Luis Benítez, manager of the Ibiza Leisure Association, expressed confidence in the success of the event. If this test-run goes well, it might bode happy news for the island’s nightlife, albeit shaped differently than usual. Nonetheless, a lot of music fans are likely going to be content with the return of accessible and provenly safe events.
