For their DMY mix, Ma Sha and Hodge crack open the kinetic pulse that fuels their joint EP, 'No One Moves Alone'. The mix channels the same lightning-strike chemistry that defined their first studio session in Montreal, where the pair fused Bristol’s percussive grit with New York’s experimental spark in a burst of instinct and improvisation.
The duo first met in New York during a Kindergarten Records night at Nowadays, which saw Hodge B2B with Darwin alongside the label’s residents. They stayed in touch, swapping production ideas and studio tips, and a year on, found themselves in Montreal, each performing their debut live sets at MUTEK 2025.
“Everything just clicked,” says Ma Sha. “We captured the energy of those few days, our first live sets and our first proper b2b. It felt like lightning in a bottle.” Hodge adds, “It came together so naturally. Ma Sha’s energy made the creativity flow instantly. We both just followed where the sound wanted to go.”
The EP’s four tracks fuse Ma Sha’s cosmic, off-kilter club pressure with Hodge’s weighty percussion and forward-leaning melodics, landing in a zone that’s both boldly experimental and unmistakably physical.
“These tracks are a direct reflection of that time,” says Hodge. “They’re about connection, improvisation, and fun."
Speaking about their DMY mix, Ma Sha says: "This is an excerpt from our three-hour B2B at MUTEK x Piknic Électronik in Montreal this August. We were still buzzing from playing our first live sets the day before, so we came in charged up and really open to wherever things would go. It felt like one of those afternoons where you don’t overthink anything — you just bounce off each other and let the flow take over. The crowd felt super warm too, like everyone was in the same headspace with us. It was the kind of set that leaves you feeling light and grateful afterward."
