It’s the most wonderful time of the year – and no, we’re not talking about the holidays. We’re talking about the return of one of our forever favorite boutique events on the West Coast: Desert Hearts Festival.
After a year off because of the pandemic, the much-loved SoCal festival has announced their triumphant return to celebrate 10 years of Desert Hearts. You can save the date for April 28- May 2, 2022 and start planning for arguably one of the best weekends of curated house and techno music of the year.
The 10-year anniversary event comes with a new change, though – the crew has said goodbye to their long-time home of Los Coyotes Indian Reservation and is moving to a new venue in Southern California. The festival will take place at Lake Perris, CA for the first time that comes with a handful of amenities like on-site bathrooms with showers, a grassy dancefloor (which, we might note, is incredibly appealing given how much dirt we always end up inhaling on the previously-dusty dancefloor every year), and more. The lakeside appeal also reminds us of early days of Lightning in a Bottle’s weekend event in Bradley, CA – a fun new element to the nonstop three-day music marathon that DH always delivers.
The new venue seems promising, and though we’re sad to not be returning to Los Coyotes, we’re definitely curious to see how the DH team will shift the event to grow into its new home. Worth pointing out, though, that with the larger venue also comes heftier ticket prices – a $249 car camping pass, for example. But at the end of the day, the Desert Hearts family always returns in full force no matter what the cost, and we don’t doubt that this year will be as magical as every year past.
For ticketholders who purchased passes for the 2020 event, all GA, EA, car camping and RV camping passes also transfer directly over to this year’s event.
Tickets are on-sale via the DH website here – $309 for a weekend ticket, $99 for an early arrival pass, $129 for a parking pass, and an array of camping passes that are also available (car camping is sold out, bu there are RV passes with & without hookups available). Grab yours and we’ll see you in April!
