All hail the return of German trance at its finest. Cosmic Gate presents escapism and wonder in their latest track Blame.
Premiered on their Miami Open Skies Livestream, the song begins with a sailing buildup, introducing vocals that are easily palatable. If we were in another world at another time, this would be the perfect song to vibe with. Imagine headphones while flying on a plane at night, heading to an exotic location.
The underpinning bass line is driving in an ever so subtle way. This is an easy “take you there” track, designed to remind you of the days when we would party amongst thousands of heaving bodies (soon my friends, soon).
Singer/songwriter Diana Miro lends her vocals beautifully to the track, in an effortlessly cool way. Cosmic Gate weave them masterfully within the introspective track, giving off an ethereal and brooding echo at times.
Cosmic Gate is certainly no stranger on the trance scene. Arguably one of the original and greats, they formed in 1999. Since then, their long lasting and long spanning career has seen them remix for the likes of Tiesto, Ferry Corsten and Armin Van Buuren.
Legends in their own rights, this latest track highlights their true craft of electronic music. Reminiscent of dark rooms and laser beams, Blame gives a nod to the past while pushing forward with a slight departure from their usual sound.
Listen to Blame here, and let it take you on a journey. Just remember to turn the lights on once the song has finished.
