One of tech house’s favorite duos delivered some sad news today. Spanish duo Chus & Ceballos are splitting up. After almost 20 years of dominating the Techno circuit, the duo is finally breaking up. The news was announced by ‘Chus’ on his social network profiles.
After almost 20 years of hard-working, the Chus & Ceballos project is over. The main representatives of Techno in Spain have decided to split and go their separate ways. This comes as sad news for every tech house fan who’s been a part of the scene during this last millennium. These guys have had a career almost as old as I am! Known worldwide for their excellent production works, Chus & Ceballos was one of the most notable techno duos in the world. Their work includes everything, from official remixes for artists like Madonna, to a series of tracks that allowed them to be as versatile as they could. This enabled them to play everywhere, from small clubs to festivals. House and Techno in equal parts, the duo dominated the scene with their perfectly blended style.
Throughout the past decade, Chus and Ceballos have been the pioneers and creators of the underground movement known as ‘Iberican Sound’. Bringing the unique sound of Latin roots give Spanish DJ into the two oldest genres inside EDM, they have made a career as successful as it gets. Chus & Ceballos splitting up is undoubtedly sad news for all of their fans. However, there’s some comfort yet to be found. Certainly, we can all look forward to Chus’ new project. Also, while there has been no comment made by Pablo ‘Ceballos’ we can definitely assure you this won’t be the last time we hear from him.
Who knows? Maybe one day, in the future, we’ll all gather for a throwback or a reunion Chus & Ceballos set. Meanwhile, we wish nothing but the best to the two of them.
