My approach as an artist is to walk along with the soul. For me a person who creates art is a person who’s connected to his soul, his colours, his sounds, his shapes and his thoughts. I believe that it gives me a place to show myself to the world.
I consider that art is freedom, allowing me to express myself in a different language. I truly believe that it is essential for everyone. For me being an artist is a gift. I invest so much time in it because it is one of my passions. It makes me feel good and happy and that is the greatest part of it for me.
My journey in the music industry started when I was 7 years old, my mom bought cool software on a CD called EJAY. For the first time in my life I created and produced Dance music. I remember recording beats with my family’s radio tape and playing them some of my creations. Those felt like my very first gigs.
2 years later I started taking Saxophone lessons. For 5 years I was playing saxophone in the local orchestra in my city. During that period, I started producing with FL Studio, I used to go back to the studio after my orchestra’s rehearsals to produce music, using some of the same notes I played a few hours earlier.
Back then I was mostly making remixes and my versions of famous songs, posting them on music forums and social media platforms. Some of them were picked up by well-known radio stations and also played in notorious clubs in Tel Aviv. Moreover, some of these tunes got thousands of views on YouTube.
I first started DJ-ing 3 years ago, my first time was at a friend´s party in Tel Aviv. I played for 2 hours for a Midburn Community, the Israeli Burning Man festival. The music style was Tech House and Deep Tech music.
My dream of becoming a DJ/Producer started many years ago. When I was younger, I dreamt of becoming a Trance DJ. However, due to my experiences in life, and new influences, I feel like the House scene is the best for me.
What was your first set-up as a DJ like?
My first gig was extremely exciting. Back then I was an unknown DJ. My set-up was extremely simple, a PC laptop and Traktor MK4 controller.
I usually need a day or 2 to get ready for a live show, just to listen to music and pick up some tracks. I really like playing brand new tracks from unknow artists. I got my special sources for this and I like to refresh dancefloors with new sounds that excite me.
I feel that DJ-ing allows me to interact with the public. Seeing how they enjoy my music, their smiles and dance moves. I love studio work but D-Jing inspires me in a different way.
That’s a good question, Israelis love to party hard and we know how to have a good time, I can surly say we live in the moment when we party.
The music genres that mostly rule in Israel are Psy-trance, Deep House and Techno, we have huge communities and scenes here for these types of music. Parties every night and huge festivals, before Covid-19 started obviously.
Tech House hasn’t reached here yet, though it’s 2020. I hope to be the one who brings the news as soon as life gets to normal again.
Yes, it is true I have some scheduled releases for the next 2 months on labels such as Groove 33, Lapsus, Ole Records, Innocent and more.
In addition, I have some unscheduled releases for later this year and next year. I recently signed on some great labels such as Cocoa, Gruff, Unnamed & Unknown and more. Gotta say I’m super excited about these releases and being signed on these great labels. I believe it is a great opportunity to develop my career and my network inside the music industry.
