Berghain, one of the most popular nightclubs in Berlin (and the world), is ready to open its doors again. The club will welcome back attendees for the first time since March 2020. As a matter of fact, Berghain has been closed since the very beginning of the pandemic.
The grand reopening night kicks off with back-to-backs from Tama Sumo and Lakuti, Massimiliano Pagliara and nd_baumecker, and Ben Klock and Marcel Dettmann. There are also slots for DJ Stingray, Electric Indigo, rRoxymore, Gabrielle Kwarteng, and Cormac. The rest of the month will have some good names as well. In fact, fans will have the chance to experience sets from Sally C, DVS1, Avalon Emerson, LSDXOXO, Palms Trax, Honey Dijon.
In a statement, Berghain owners expressed what the reopening meant to them.
“Music is often referred to as something universally human, a language that is understood all over the world. Which makes no evolutionary sense, but has known how to strengthen the sense of community since the beginning of human history. It is an echo of our humanity, which leads to similar structures and is recognized regardless of cultural background — be it a love song or a dance track. Music is the answer. With this in mind: Let the bass kick, see you on the dancefloor!”
Even though the club did not have the chance to host its traditional Klubnacht during the pandemic, Berghain did remain active. The club has continuously hosted weekend garden parties and midweek events since July. Recently, organizers hosted a three-day live stream with its in-house label, Ostgut Ton. It’s really good to see the club thriving again.
