After a number one-f performances behind the decks, Shaq, aka DJ Diesel, is ready to go on tour.
Back in March, O’Neal made quite the splash during Miami Music Week with Shaq’s Fun House, a six-hour event that featured carnival games, circus performers and a star-studded lineup including Diplo, Steve Aoki, A-Trak, Carnage, himself and more. The inaugural party was launched by O’Neal and his business partners — now music managers — Adam Richman and Joe Silberzweig. The two recently formed Medium Rare, a boutique entertainment consultancy and management firm. O’Neil says, “My partners Joe and Adam, those guys are musical experts and really think outside the box. Medium Rare represents a new generation music mavericks and Shaq’s Fun House is just the beginning for them.”
“Shaquille has been an incredible friend and business partner for many years,” says Silberzweig. “SHAQ is a champion in every which way and this new opportunity to work alongside a global icon building both his music career and the Fun House brand is exhilarating.”
Richman adds, “Shaquille brings an unimaginable game 7 work ethic to everything he does and we are very thankful to be a part his team.”
“A lot people think I am just a celebrity DJ, but I’ve been DJing since I was 14 years old, through my LSU days, and even back when I was in the NBA,” O’Neal tells Billboard. “Over the years my musical influences may have changed, but one thing has always stayed consistent – it’s all about FUN and making people dance. That is what Summer SHAQ is all about.”
