In our Apple Music playlist series, some of our favourite DJs guide us through a selection of their ultimate afterparty tunes. This week's selector is Cristoph!
Ahead of his gig at South West More (The official SW4 after party) with Alan Fitzpatrick and Eric Prydz, we've asked Christoph to dig through his collection.
Check out Cristoph's selection below and get tickets here.
1 - Lovebirds - I Want You In My Soul
I think everyone loves this record. A stunning vocal accompanied by beautiful tones. Reminds me a lot of after parties at my house with my close friends.
2 - David August - Epikur
Fell in love with this track when I first heard it in 2014. Absolute masterpiece. Always listen to this when I'm travelling around.
3 - Solomun Grey - Twilight (John Monkman Remix)
The haunting female vocal in this gets me every time. Some serious emotive atmospherics in here as well.
4 - Christian Loffler - All Comes (Mind Against Remix)
I love the synth work in this track. That added to Gry's very unique vocal and bereft lyrics makes this a winner for me.
5 - Kolsch - All That Matters
Another record which reminds me of afters at mine with close friends. A real deep and meaningful track, when I listen to it I seem to drift away and forget about any problems.
6 - Elbow - Real Life (Cristoph Remix)
My first attempt of trying to produce a more down tempo piece of music. Such an honour to work with a great band. The vocals are stunning.
7 - Michael McDonald & Patti LaBelle - On My Own
A hit from the 80's I literally can't stop listening to this. Everywhere I go I seem to have it on. Two great singers who I love to chill and listen to.
8 - Hall & Oats - I Can't Go For That
Another one from the 80's. Real nice dark, plucky riff and some beautiful sax work by Charlie DeChant makes it real funky.
9 - Drizabone - Real Love
One of my Dad's favourites from the early 90's. Another song I enjoy listening to when travelling about.
10 - Notorious B.I.G (Feat 112) - Sky's The Limit
A more mellow Hip Hop track. Massive fan of Biggie and I take a lot of advice/influences from the lyrics.
11 - George Fitzgerald - Full Circle
A record full of emotion and delicately constructed, an amazing piece of work by George Fitzgerald here.
12 - Deadmau5 - Jaded
Favourite ever Deadmau5 track. Some of his early stuff was amazing.
13 - Dan Ghenacia & Shonky - Close To The Edge
'Come closer, take my hand, put your arms around me' - such a great and catchy vocal alongside some suspended rhodes chords, stunning strings and unrelenting bass. Superb
14 - Toto - Africa
Great record from the early 80's. The songwriter's (David Paich) idea behind the song is why I love this.
15 - Robyn - Every Heartbeat (Tong & Spoon Remix)
Although a little commercial I really love this remix. Many an after party at mine where there has been a load of people sitting around singing this when it comes on. Good times.
