It’s weird to hear Armin Van Buuren speak without intense enthusiasm and passion, but today, August 13th, the producer took to social media to inform us that the sold-out ASOT1000 celebration has now been postponed to February 18th and 19th, 2022.
This decision comes about because the Dutch Government has extended the current COVID restrictions on events until mid-September (ASOT1000 was set to happen September 3rd and 4th). Because of the size of the event, it’s been under the watchful eye of the government since its inception. And now, Prime Minister Mark Rutte states that the number of hospitalizations and corona infections are not yet under control to a point where multi-day events of more than 850 people should possibly take place.
The Dutch dance music community is understandably furious about this situation, and the Awakenings Festival has begun promoting a protest.
Of course, current tickets for ASOT1000 will remain valid for the new dates. If an individual is unable to join for 2022, it is easy to request a refund. This and more will come in an email early next week. It’s important to note that this postponement in Ultrecht will not affect the ASOT1000 celebrations in Moscow and Krakow.
