It’s always a good day when we get a remix from one of our favorite artists. Today, is one of those days. I say this, as we have just received an epic remix of Nicky Romero & MARF’s ‘Okay‘, featuring Wulf. The remix, is by none other than the legendary Dutch maestro, Afrojack. The last time we wrote about Afrojack was for his progressive anthem ‘Hero‘, featuring David Guetta. Prior to that, it was an exclusive interview. Now, we bring you Afrojack’s latest remix of Nicky Romero & MARF’s ‘Okay’, featuring Wulf. If you’re a fan of the progressive side of Afrojack, I think you’re gonna love this one.
The original Nicky Romero version of ‘Okay’ is a true progressive house ballad, in familiar fashion. Having said that, the Afrojack remix is anything but, although it does maintain some of the originals, obvious pop influences. The lyrics are kept intact, keeping the same vibe from the original, that is until the drop of course. Where Nicky Romero goes euphoric, hands-in-the-air progressive house, Afrojack opts instead for a dirty, 2010-esque progressive house drop. There are times where the remix reminds me of the newer ‘Future Rave’ sound, albeit, a bit softer, and not as in your face as say, David Guetta’s stuff.
If you’re a fan of vintage Afrojack, old Avicii, or just good ole’ progressive house, this is a tune you don’t want to miss out on. With a total runtime of 3:19, this is a tune that goes by rather quickly. With that said, you may want to play it over again, as it features an awesome drop, that I personally can’t get enough of. Afrojack’s remix of Nicky Romero & MARF’s ‘Okay’, featuring Wulf is out now on Protocol Recordings, and can be streamed below, enjoy!
