adidas and Factory International have announced the return of the Originals Creator Network North, the second edition of the six-month development programme for emerging creatives based in Greater Manchester. Designed to support underrepresented talent aged 18–30, the initiative offers a rare opportunity to gain structured industry experience within one of the UK’s most significant cultural spaces.
Running from Aviva Studios, home of Factory International, the programme will bring together 20 early-career creatives working across photography, videography, design, content creation and styling. Open to applicants with less than a year of paid professional experience, the network aims to address persistent barriers to entry within the creative industries, particularly outside London.
Building on the success of the London-based Originals Creator Network South, founded in 2022, OCN North was launched in 2024 with a clear focus on regional access and long-term development. Participants will take part in industry-led masterclasses, mentorship sessions and collaborative workshops, all centred around responding to a live creative brief. The programme culminates in a public showcase at Aviva Studios, with each participant also receiving a £600 bursary.
Factory International’s Chief Commercial Officer Scott McVittie described the programme as a “meaningful opportunity” that gives young creatives the time, support and space to develop their voice and confidence.
Applications are now open, with a deadline of Sunday 22 February.
