French producer, curator, and multidisciplinary artist Titouan L.C.S. is preparing for the release of his highly anticipated forthcoming album, Hiver Blanc à Abidjan, scheduled for May. To build momentum, he has unveiled a bold new single that further cements his reputation for pushing the boundaries of contemporary electronic music.
Titled 'YOUZOU,' the track is a raw, groove-heavy collaboration with DJ Seny D. The single draws deep inspiration from the infectious energy of baile funk, channeling fierce percussion and a restless, club-ready momentum. It is an immediate, physical listening experience that serves as a testament to the artist's commitment to themes of travel, cultural exchange, and identity.
The creative process behind the release was extensive, developed over three years of work across Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, and Cape Verde. Rather than simply borrowing from distant musical scenes, Titouan L.C.S. practices a form of "sound travel diaries," where his compositions emerge from direct, on-the-ground collaboration with local musicians and cultural communities.
'YOUZOU' masterfully fuses poetic techno and trance atmospherics with organic live instrumentation and hard-hitting rhythmic frameworks. This hybrid sound was significantly sharpened during a transformative stay in Abidjan in the winter of 2023, a period that also served as the catalyst for his previous Bloom Coco EP.
