Celebrated UK producer James Hurr has officially made his debut on FLAMENCA Records with his latest single, 'Gitanita'. This release marks his second collaboration with label boss STBAN, following their successful track 'El Camino', which was released on Toolroom Records late last year.
'Gitanita'—a title translating to “gypsy” in Spanish—reunites the production duo with the acclaimed Flamenco singer Sandra Carrasco and the pioneering guitarist Josemi Carmona. The track features Carmona’s delicate guitar rhythms layered over Iberic-style percussion, while Carrasco’s evocative vocals provide a layer of emotional tension. The result is a sophisticated fusion that bridges the gap between traditional flamenco and modern dance floor energy.
Reflecting on the creative process, James Hurr noted, "Collaborating with STBAN has been an exciting musical challenge, away from my comfort zone and into the modal world of flamenco music. There’s something dark and mysterious in STBAN’s music that works perfectly with driving club beats."
STBAN echoed this sentiment, adding, "I’m delighted to be working again with James, and to have him officially releasing on the FLAMENCA Records label after our Toolroom collaboration is the icing on the cake. Once again we’ve co-created a beautiful fusion between the worlds of flamenco and electronic."
