Progressive Trance under the rain and the fireworks. Could you ask for anything else?
Lots of beautiful things happened during this year’s EDC Las Vegas. One of them, one may argue, was Jono and Paavo featuring a 90-minute-long set at the Circuit Grounds stage. The set portrays A&B’s current Progressive Trance, Techno and Older-Trance-Reimagined sound, with tons of infectious beats all throughout the night. Above & Beyond’s EDC goes, quite literally, above and beyond.
Put on your best pair of headphones, or turn your speakers up a bit louder than usual — you’re going to need that extra power. Among the tracks played that night, stand fragments from Above & Beyond’s latest Tranquility Base Vol. 1 EP, Myon‘s remix of JODA‘s ‘Breaking Down Walls‘, a couple of very tasty IDs (one rumoured to be either A&B or Alex Sonata & TheRio, other thought to be an Andrew Bayer, Gabriel & Dresden, and Sub Teal collab, and the other a new A&B x Seven Lions work), their future classic ‘Crazy Love‘ featuring Zoë Johnston, and so much more.
Did I mention the very moment they played ‘500‘ Paavo wrote some wonderful messages while it rained down in Vegas and a breathtaking round of fireworks went off? I know for a fact I would’ve broken down at that very moment. Too intense to bear.
