Agents of Time, the project of Italian duo Andrea Di Ceglie and Luigi Tutolo, return with a two song EP titled The Mirage. Since debuting in 2013, the duo have established a following around their mesmerizing rhythms built around dance-centric beats. One of their biggest remixes was of The Weeknd’s ‘Take My Breath Away’, garnering nearly 4.5 million views on The Weeknd’s Youtube channel.
The titular song, ‘The Mirage,’ creates a beautiful soundscape, with dulcet pads and atmospheric synths filling the space. The song is filled with fluid-like ear candy that will keep the listener relaxed and engaged wherever they are listening. During the drops, if you listen closely, you can hear a faint call and response between the strong main chords and a lighter, effervescent string.
‘Northern Lights’ presents itself as a slower but more methodical emotional journey. The hats and pads progress and grow into a full deep bass with plenty of reverb. With all of its subtleties, this song embodies the essence of “the journey, not the destination.”
Agents of Time are currently performing around the Mediterranean and Europe. According to their website, they will be in Egypt, Israel, Switzerland, and Western Europe over the next few months. Be sure to check out the EP here.
