Denver-based bass music producer and saxophone player SoDown brings us his new release, ‘Cake‘. In tandem, the artist announced his US tour dates, and they’re surely not to be missed.
“I wanted to make a track that reflects the state of capitalism and its shortcomings. In what seems like an endless pursuit of paper, it’s easy to lose sight of what really matters, those we love, the experiences we share, and the growth within ourselves.”
SoDown – press release
Kicking off, ‘Cake’ begins with an ominous and interesting point which quickly delves into snappy beats. From there, the grabbing grooves and percussion lead into a creamy bass that drives us down into a powerful chorus. Within, the message imbued in the track begins to portray itself much more quickly, clearly showing a sense of intent. Each sound used throughout serves its purpose to deliver the overarching concept, simultaneously pointing out the producer’s sound.
