In Q3 of 2019, the global wireless earbud, earphone and headphone market saw a growth of 53%, according to Canalys. That figure represents 96.7 million units of sale worldwide. Apple is currently dominating the wireless market. 18.2 million units of Airpods were shipped during Q3. Canalys also predicts that 2019 will be the biggest year for smart personal audio device market, and sales will top 100 million in Q4. Potentially, it may hit 350 million for the overall year.

Although Apple is dominating the wireless market overall, other companies have been able to find their own niche and place in the market as well. We can expect to see other companies innovate to create new products and attempt to compete with Apple. Canalyst expects the market for smart personal audio devices to grow exponentially in the next two years.
