Triplej has at last revealed their 2018 Hottest 100 list, a compendium the year’s most popular tracks in Australia on the country’s biggest radio station. While the country’s de facto ambassador for EDM, Flume, has generally stood fairly high in the list, a slow 2017 has dropped him to only #90 for “Hyperreal.”
This year, the #1 spot goes to Kendrick Lamar for “Humble,” undoubtedly one the biggest tracks the whole year. So how did dance music do overall? It still definitely showed up.
Australia is always on the forefront new and interesting artists, so you’ve got names like Touch Sensitive and PNAU on the list who might not be as popular in the US, but are crushing their numbers down under. With so much fire on one list, we definitely recommend checking out any artists you don’t recognize.
